Our Minibus
As a result of much fundraising, and the generosity of local companies, individuals and the Community Fund, the Club was able to commission this purpose-built minibus for its members and also for use by other local Community groups.

The Thames Valley PHAB Club minibus is a purpose-built vehicle seating up to 14 passengers. Five of these seats fold up to allow up to 4 wheelchairs to be located. Each wheelchair user has a full lap and diagonal seatbelt, which is independent of the restraints used to secure the chair to the floor. Access for wheelchairs is via a ramp at the rear doors, which when opened lower the rear of the bus on its air suspension. The minibus has a 2.8L turbo-diesel engine with 5-speed gearbox and power steering. Air conditioning and all round vision with comfortable seating make journeys an enjoyable experience for both driver and passengers.
To use this minibus your driver will need to be trained in the MiDAS training scheme (Minibus Drivers Awareness Scheme). The qualification is certificated and is valid for 4 years.
How much will it cost?
- Standard Rate £30 per day/part day for first 25 miles
- 60p per mile for 25-100 miles
- 50p per mile for 100 plus miles
- Annual Affiliation fee of £25 to join scheme
- MiDAS Training Course, certificated qualification valid for 4 years. For current fee contact minibus administrator.
